It would be so easy to let you define me
To give you the power
To become everything I fear and loath

To look on the brief note that is you
And call it a major plot point of my life
But you are really nothing
I had just barely learned your name
And even though I didn't love you
I couldn't spend the whole night
It would be easy for me to ignore you
To give you that power
To haunt my every intimate thought
It would be easy for me to forget you
To say you touched me as much
Or nearly as much as I pressed over you
But I have never been one
To take the easiest path I see
So know none of this will happen
Though I will let this change me
