The Storm

Red sky at morning
Sailors take warning
The storm is coming
A little while off

The boat is ready
Or it better be
No place to hide
On the open sea

No time to build a stronger boat
Only now to trust in hope
As waves rise and winds roar
As bow breaks and sails soar
This journey was never promised serenity
And God may not grant us clemency
So shall we cling for mere tenacity
As this boat sails on through adversity

  1. I like it. While reading I envisioned a throng of hardened sea-men bellowing the lines in time with hauling a rope, each soaked with sea spray and tossed about by a dark tempest....thanks for the imagery :)
